2016 – Rnd 8 Nene Valley Raceway – The End

With just 1 week remaining before we head to the final round of the 2016 BRCA Large Scale Off Road series at the Nene Valley Raceway in Northamptonshire could I make those aware who are attending of the following.

The Nene crew have been busy getting the venue ready for our visit and have arranged for Wendy to make a return visit with her catering van so please use as Wendy makes a two hour trip to support this meeting. She hopes to be on site from 11am on Saturday, 8th, to serve food from midday. Sunday breakfasts to afternoon tea will be available!

The Nene will be open from mid day on Friday for anyone wishing to arrive ahead of the weekend, any one wishing to arrive earlier then get in touch with either Mark or myself otherwise feel free to turn up from noon on Friday.

For those who use the M1\M6\A14 junction then please check as currently their are weekend and night closures taking place so please check your routes before departing.

The club asks that you take your rubbish away with you and not leave it laying about the Nene as following the April visit this year the clubs landlord was not happy with the state of the rubbish left around the site.

Last weekend the Nene’s annual astro attack meeting raised £1300 for the McMillan Cancer Support charity and a donation bucket will be left in race control for any one who wishes to add to this total.

During this weekend it will be the final opportunity to purchase any raffle tickets to win either the MRS head kit or the Engine they kindly donated plus a few other extras.

The BRCA and Nene crew look forward to welcoming those entering the final round of the 2016 series

2015 BRCA LSOR Shield Recipients

Could I ask those who won one of the 6 BRCA LSOR shields in 2015 could they get them returned to the section ahead of the sections AGM on the 30th October so the 2016 recipients can receive them.

The shields were awarded to the Championship winners and Clubman series winners in all three classes

Many Thanks

Its fast approaching that time of year when the UK have to submit our list of numbers who wish to attend the forthcoming LSOR European championship.

The Championship will be held in the UK in 2017 at the Nene Valley Raceway club in Northamptonshire during the final week of July, 24th to the 29th July. (Date to be confirmed at the 2106 EFRA AGM in November)

It is anticipated that like this years European championship in France all three classes of LSOR will be raced, 2 wheel drive buggy, 4 wheel drive buggy and Short course with all classes requiring an EFRA licence which costs £45 currently.

Could I ask all the UK drivers interested in participating in the 2017 LSOR EFRA European championship please make me (lsorchair@brca.org) aware that you wish to attend and what class by the time of the BRCA AGM on the 30th October so we can inform EFRA of our required allocation. Likewise once you’ve raised your interest a full payment of £105 or deposit of £55 needs to be made to the BRCA section to reserve your place by the time of the BRCA AGM, if a deposit is made then the balance of £50 needs to be made to the section by 31st December.

The non refundable payments can be either made in cash, Cheque (Payable to BRCA Large Scale Off Road Section), BACS transfer or paypal, whatever is easier. Paypal payments can be made to treasurer@brca.org with the subject : 2017 Large Scale Off Road EC Place plus your name.

Once EFRA have confirmed acceptance of our allocation the next step will be collecting the information that EFRA and the meeting organisers need. If places are limited or classes not run then refunds will be given accordingly.

It’ll soon be Round 7 of the BRCA LSOR Championship here at North Ings! 17th & 18th September, mark your diaries!

As mentioned at Pickering Round 6, North Ings is now open every Saturday and Sunday from now until the nationals for practice at £5 per day. Come and have a practice on new track layout!

5PM on Friday, with last admittance for Practice at 4pm.

Practice will be available from Noon – 5PM on Saturday, costing £5 per day.

As per last year, Edwina will be on site with her catering van on Sunday only.

The postcode is LN4 3QB. Depending on your locations the best way to come to us is to head into Ruskington, then through the village heading towards Lincoln, this will take you onto the Dorrington Road, at the pub called ‘The Musicians Arm’, turn right there (there should be signs up), follow that road under the railway bridge until you reach the sign for the museum on the right, there should also be some Northings Raceway signs up too!

Please can you also take all your rubbish home with you and we will provide you black bin bags.

Hope to see you all there. If you’ve got any other questions, please get in touch.

2016 BRCA LSOR Rnd 6 – Please read

Firstly can I congratulate the Pickering crew on behalf of the BRCA 2016 LSOR section for making us feel welcome and ensuring that the track was in top condition ahead of our arrival.

Despite the pre event weather forecasts for the area around Pickering having bad storms and heavy rain the actual race day was run under glorious blue skies for the fourth year running with 47 racers making the trip to Sunny Yorkshire.

Those of us who arrived early experienced the heavy rain on Friday afternoon and late into the evening whilst Saturday practice was hit by a short sharp shower mid-afternoon.

The section wishes to congratulate those drivers who with two rounds to go have achieved scores to secure their places in their respective championships.

4 Wheel Drive National Championship Winner :- Ian Oddie

4 Wheel Drive National Championship Runner up :- Jack Keatley

2 Wheel Drive National Championship Winner :- Karl Norris

Whilst all this is good news I am afraid to say that Neil has contacted me following the meeting to say how disappointed he is that despite requesting that all rubbish should be taken home, 12 bags were hidden on the fire under a couple of pallets. For those who came with Co-op and Aldi carrier bags and Bulmer’s Neil and Robin have your goods if you wish to collect them!

I am disappointed that a few racers have decided to ignore the hosts request and makes the hosts job twice as hard now since in Neil’s case the area used to race needs to be returned to perfect grazing conditions before the sheep return to the field and those who left late would have seen Neil on his hands and knees ensuring no body clips were in the grass!

We have two rounds to go in the 2016 series so please if you are attending either round and camping please take home your rubbish to help both the Ings and Nene teams out.
